Look no further for your 4th of July recipe : Tangy & Smoky Never Fried BBQ Chicken Tenders 💅
What You'll Need:
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 servings BBQ Popchips (about 40 chips, crushed)
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 2-4 tbsp BBQ sauce, for glaze or dipping
Instructions:
- Put the chicken tenders in a bowl or gallon size zip-top bag and add buttermilk, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir or massage to coat evenly.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or overnight to amp up the flavor.
- After marinating, mix the crushed BBQ Popchips and panko breadcrumbs in a shallow baking dish or paper plate.
- Coat each chicken tender in the Popchips/breadcrumb mixture.
- Add the chicken to an air fryer in a single layer and cook at 390 degrees for about 20 minutes (or until the chicken reaches 165 degrees).
- Repeat for remaining chicken tenders.
- When cooked, brush BBQ sauce on top of each tender, or serve as a dip.

No air fryer? No problem! Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
